I'm going to write about "Kawagoe yu-yu land & Hotel Sanko" (川越湯遊ランド&ホテル三光), in Kawagoe City, Japan.

Kawagoe city is in Saitama prefecture, and it takes 40 minutes by train from Tokyo's Ikebukuro station to get there.

Kawagoe is good place to visit near Tokyo, Japan.

Taishu-engeki, public bath, a hotel in Kawagoe.

You can enjoy Taishu-engeki performance and large public baths at "Kawagoe yu-yu land (川越湯遊ランド)"

"Kawagoe yu-yu land" and "Hotel Sanko (ホテル三光)" is in the same 7 story building.

Taishu-engeki 大衆演劇

Do you know what Taishu-engeki is like?
It is Japanese style popular theatre which is described as "theatre of masses."

You might think that it looks like a form of Japanese performing arts called "Kabuki", but Taishu-engeki are not formal as "Kabuki." You can go there light-heartedly without caring about dress.

The show are generally split into a drama section and dancing section.

The performance was spectacular.

Taishu-engeki's Schedule

・Daytime performance starts 1 pm.
・Night performance starts 6 pm.

They perform about two and a half hours with a break of about 20 minutes.

They have 1~2days off every month. You must check the schedule.

Cautionally point

Among audience seats, there are only a very few seats with chairs. You will sit on a cushion like this↓. You should care about your knees.

Public bath (spa)

There is a large bathroom with two sauna rooms in Kawagoe yu-yu land.

You recieve a locker key at reception, and you take off your clothes in the locker room. Let's wash your body in a shower first.

Kawagoe yu-yu land's fee

The entrance fee ¥1840 includes fees for both of public bath and Taishu-engeki. You can use the public bath all day.

Reservation is not needed if you use only yu-yu land without staying hotel Sanko.

Cautionally point

In Kawagoe yu-yu land, your locker key is important as money. If you order drinks or foods, you only show the store staff your key number at the time, and you will pay all of money later.

Hotel Sanko

"Hotel Sanko (ホテル三光)" is a basic hotel.

If you stay this hotel, the fees for public bath and Taishu-engeki are included in lodging charge.

Ordinally, hotel reservation websites are cheeper than direct contact.

It takes about 40 munites from Tokyo's Ikebukuro station to Honkawagoe station by train.
